This is not meant to be a full Genetics chart for the Birman colors it is simply a list of possible outcomes from breeding two specific color cats together. There are much better Genetic charts available that will show why some colors listed here will not show up very often.

Lynx (Tabby) Point Combinations:

Lynx (Tabby) markings are just an unmasking of the agouti gene (all cats are tabby cats it is just that certain patterns mask tabby) Lynx patterns can occur in all of the color combinations on both tables only if one of the parents is a Lynx point. No matter how many cats in the pedigree have Lynx markings you cannot get a Lynx point if one of the parents is not Lynx, it is a dominant color pattern.

Red Factor Point Combinations:

The Red factor colors add a large number of combinations that apply only to females because of the XX Chromosome that Males cannot have. There have always been exceptions to this rule but they are a genetic oddity and males are rarely fertile when this occurs.
